Driver & guide recommendation for your Sri Lanka holiday
Our tour round in Sri Lanka was a great success. Not least because of Mr. Wasantha Soma, our excellent private driver and guide. Of course you can rent a car and drive around in the country on your own, but the traffic culture in Sri Lanka is very different from the European traffic culture, at least the Danish traffic culture, and Wasantha was very good to get us safely and fast through the traffic jungle of Tuk-Tuks, trucks, dogs, cows and bicycles. Wasantha’s many years of experience with the local traffic was a great advantage and comfort for us, and we can highly recommend him as your private driver and guide should you be inspired by our tour.
A “Lonely Planet” travel book is always good to bring on a tour, but it cannot compare to the knowledge of a state authorised guide as Wasantha who is always up to date with the newest information, and it sure will not give you the benefits of a local guide’s network and contacts. Wasantha has a very broad knowledge about the history of Sri Lanka, the cultural and politic development in Sri Lanka and not least the wildlife of this beautiful country.
We are both used to travelling around on our own, but travelling with Wasantha as our own personal guide was a very pleasant experience.
We have been more than satisfied to travel with Wasantha as our private driver and guide, and can highly recommended Wasantha if you are looking for a professional driver and guide for your tour in Sri lanka.
