Skógar - Torsmork - Landmannalaugar
A 5 days hike from Skógar to Landmannalaugar (it is possible to do it in 4 days, but it is more comfortable in 5). I decided to go from Skógar to Landmannalaugar and not the other way round as most people do.
The trail is very well marked and it is also very well visited (no chance to get it for your self if you are hiking in the period from June to August).
It is a remarkable landscape you are going through. It is changing from hour to hour (so is the weather), and it is something very different from Greenland, Sweden and Norway. There are some waters to cross. Not deep but very cold!!
There are several huts on the trail. There are all serviced and you have to pay to use them. You are not allowed to put up a tent outside the campingsites near the huts (about 1000 ISK/person).
It is possible to take a bus from Reykjavik to Skógar and another from Landmannalaugar to Reykjavik (and make a open reservation for your departure from Landmannalaugar).
